Discover about Facebook related to Cancer

I was listening to radio when the DJ was discussing about this topic that Facebook may increase the risk of cancer.

Out of curiosity, i searched the net and found a few websites related to this topic.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1149207/How-using-Facebook-raise-risk-cancer.html

Ya, i'm frequently on fb recently... maybe i should visit it less.
However, I believe social websites like facebook and friendster have indeed help us to keep in touch with a lot friends and also help us to get back some of our long lost friends. It is also a way to let us know how our friends are doing recently.

One thing it highlighted is lack of face to face interactions. People spend more time on computer while spend less time with people around. People are getting more attached to computer like how they are attached to their handphone. That's how the advancement in technology has change people's life. Maybe we should recall the days we don't have computers and handphones.

Let's have a day without handphone and computer..!

Discovery of Flowers

HappY Valentine's Day and Also FRIENDSHIP Day..!!!

This year, it was a special week. The DnD and FoC committees have been preparing for the Valentine's day promotion. It was really a very busy week for everyone. Taking flower orders, manning booth and selling candy goodies, this is all we do this week. The most exciting thing was staying overnight and wrapped flowers. Everyone was engrossing in wrapping their flowers. The toughest job was to keep yourself awake through the night. I think it was fun. And I enjoyed the process...like I always say.

Flower wrapping is definitely required alot of skill. It is not an easy job too. From the basic de-thorning to the last part tieing the ribbon to your master piece, you will feel a sense of satistfaction. I believe alot of us do after wrapping all the flowers. Haha.

I have learnt a few more accessory flowers through wrapping of bouquets.

Forget-me-not (purple):
-is regarded as an emblem of loving remembrance, faithful love, constancy and undying hope.

Baby's Breath (white):
-Everlasting love, happiness, pure in heart

I cannot find the meaning of golden phoenix and orange phoenix. lol

I didn't sleep for 40 hours that day and a few of us too... It's so hurtful for the health. The happiest thing is that I learnt how to wrap a bouquet of flower though still not very beautiful. YesH, finally acomplished one of my aim in joining DnD. haha.

Discovery about Life

Sorry about lack of updates recently. I have been busy lately. I will try to blog at least once a week. =)

T
wo weeks ago, from the news on ch8, i got to know that Shin had passed away. I believe her family and friends may have a hard time. Even though I did not know her personally, she had inspired me a lot. I got to know about her story through the ch8 documentary show during November 2008. I would really like to share with u guys about her story...

Let me give a small introduction of Shin. Shin was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. She has two kids at home, one boy and one girl. She is very motivated in life and inspired a lot of people around including me. She set up a blog so that next time her children can remember what their mummy had written for them. If you read her blog, you will know the kind of spirit she had in life. I just discovered that her blog also had the documentary video that was shown during last November. Have a good look at it. :)

And this is her blog... and I hope her way of living has inspired a lot more people. =)
